# Human anatomy asset credits and integration

These are selected meshes from **BodyParts3D**, an anatomical database created by **The Database Center for Life Science (DBCLS), Japan**, distributed as a coherent adult male body. Models were downloaded as public GLB derivatives from Human Body Explorer, then meshopt-decoded, transformed together, and decimated for browser use. All final files are conventional glTF 2.0 with embedded geometry, float32 positions/normals, standard materials, and no Draco, KTX, or meshopt dependency.

The lung-lobe file and its modified derivatives retain CC BY-SA 2.1 JP. Keep this license associated with that model when redistributing it. The independent website code does not need this license solely because it loads the model. Other final models retain CC BY 4.0. Model-level source URLs, license, and attribution are also embedded in each final GLB's `asset` metadata.

## Coordinates

All final files have exactly the same origin, orientation, and scale. There is **no individual recentering or fitting**.

Source millimeter coordinates `(x,y,z)` were transformed to `(x,z,-y) * 0.01`. Therefore **1 output unit = 100 mm = 10 cm**, +Y points toward the head, +Z points anteriorly, and +X points to the patient's anatomical left. A camera at positive Z sees a frontal view; the patient's right is on the viewer's left.

- `asset-manifest.json`: exact output bounds, center, size, mesh/triangle/material counts, byte counts, SHA-256, and license for every detailed/CPU file.
- `bounds-report.json`: detailed-file bounds and embedded attribution, together with an extra research layer `lungs.glb`.
- `submesh-bounds.json`: each source-named part's center, size, bounds, triangle count, and source FJ identifier/group metadata.
- All vertex positions and normals are baked into this shared world space. Nodes do not require inherited transforms.
- Use `userData.labelEN` / `extras.labelEN` for original names if a runtime normalizes mesh names.
- Vertex normals are retained for smooth shading. The included PNG previews use simple flat triangle shading for geometric inspection and are not an example of intended final rendering.

## Recommended composition

Use **lung_lobes + bronchi + trachea** for lungs and breathing. The lobe source contains five individually named lobes; the bronchial source contains true branching airway meshes. The separate `lungs.glb` research file includes pulmonary vessels too, and also contains a few source-labeled detached branches below the lungs; **prefer `bronchi.glb`** for the website airway display.

Use **esophagus + stomach + small_intestine + large_intestine** for the digestive route. Liver and kidneys share the same world space and can be added directly.

`major_vessels.glb` is an optional selection of source aorta, cavae, pulmonary, carotid, renal, and mesenteric segments. It preserves source gaps, especially in the neck; it is not a complete connected vascular lumen. `trachea.glb` includes pharynx/larynx structures as well as the trachea.

`skin.glb` is an adult male outer-body surface with normal anatomical external features, plus separate head hair/eyebrow surfaces. It can be shown as a transparent contextual shell or clipped below the pelvis for a torso view.

CPU versions preserve the coordinate system and source materials but reduce geometric detail. Some extremely small source parts collapse away at this scale; invalid empty meshes/accessors were removed. Detailed versions preserve the named source-part structure.

## Research-only files

Do not deploy `*-original.glb`, `*-decoded.glb`, `*-baked.glb`, `organs-original.glb`, `lungs.glb`, intermediate scripts, downloaded site HTML/JavaScript, or the downloaded GitHub tree. Deploy only the files in the main table and the corresponding CPU variants as needed.

`organs-original.glb` is a separate unused alternative, “Human Organs” by mkhasant, [CC BY 4.0](https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/), [source](https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/human-organs-035316622877438cb62de673b8f19217). It was not used in the coherent BodyParts3D exports.
